Presentation Takii Seed FloraPodium
Last week FloraPodium was introduced to Takii Seed. They visited the FloraPodium to give a very entertaining and instructive presentation about a number of beautiful varieties of Sunflowers, Lisianthus and Brassica's, which they have created.
Takii Seed is the brand name of all varieties of flowers and vegetable seeds developed for the professional market. Takii Europe B.V. is a subsidiary of Takii & Co., Ltd. in Japan, one of the largest breeders of vegetables and flowers in the world. With the head office in De Kwakel in the Netherlands, the European, Middle East, African and Central Asian markets are covered. In several countries test stations, production sites and sales offices are established, which contribute to the delivery and promotion of a wide range of fruit and flower varieties, aimed at professional growers.
Helianthus
On the podium this week a number of beautiful varieties of the Helianthus line 'Sunrich'. 'Sunrich', a Helianthus series by breeder Takii, has been the undisputed market leader and a household name in the sunflower market for 25 years. This family consists of different varieties of sunflowers that are characterized by a reliable quality, long vase life and flowering without pollen. This means that the Sunrich varieties are among the most frequently supplied sunflowers worldwide.
Lisianthus
Besides Helianthus, they brought a number of Lisianthus species from the 'Corelliseries'. These vases can also be admired on FloraPodium this week.
The 'Corelli' series is a series introduced by Takii in 2015. The Lisianthus in this series is characterized by the large filled double fringed flowers and thick buds. It looks playful, grand and elegant. The vase life is excellent.
Brassica
A relatively small product group, but a very nice seasonal product; cut brassica. Takii has several varieties of cut brassica varieties in its portfolio. The advantage of all these varieties is that they emit a minimal odor and therefore do not carry the unpleasant smell associated with cabbages. Brassica is a beautiful autumn product that enhances a bouquet. The new generation of brassica has been improved on many fronts, including: shape, vase life, availability and range broadening.
