Last year we visited Charl and Irma van Dam from De Vuurlinie nursery to learn more about the beautiful white "White Vuvuzela". At the time they told us that they were working on a fourth Vuvuzela rose and that it would be available soon. And now the time has finally come; last week, Charl and Irma released the first "Magic Vuvuzela".

And the rose is truly magical! It has a beautiful mixed color; purple on the outside, but with a very beautiful intense pink color in the heart. "She has a very special color, a color that is unique in this particular form," Charl says enthusiastically.

"In addition, the vase life is also very good. It will last for at least two weeks, you don't see that much with English roses. "

Charl and Irma spend much of their work on breeding. The "Magic Vuvuzela" also comes from their own line. Before the roses are put on the market, they are extensively tested. For example, the heads are submerged under water and then put inside the house at room temperature. In this way it soon becomes clear whether the variety is susceptible to Botrytis.

In addition to the fantastic color, the rose is also easy to grow. Last year, Charl and Irma told us that their roses are grafted onto the rootstock of a wild rose. These trunks provide more vigor and ensure that the rose is stronger and has a larger head. The "Magic Vuvuzela" itself is so heavy that it grows on its own root and not on any other rootstock.

In the Vuvuzela line, the "Magic Vuvuzela" has the brightest color. The almost candy pink color will immediately stand out in any arrangement. She will be a real eye-catcher in a bouquet, but she will also brighten up the entire room in a vase.

The rose is now exclusively available in small numbers. Kwekerij de Vuurlinie expects the second cut in six to seven weeks, then the numbers of this new rose will also increase.
