In the spring of 2020, the 'Hortensia Inspiration Week' was planned for the FloraPodium, organized by Manon Poot and Gerard Gardien. A very fun and educational initiative realized by all hydrangea suppliers of Royal Flora Holland. Due to the corona virus, we were unfortunately forced to postpone the presentation to September. Last week the moment had finally arrived. We received nine beautifully colored hydrangea varieties from different breeders and growers. While giving a very interesting presentation, Manon and Gerard gave us a glimpse into the market figures for cut hydrangeas in the Netherlands and of course for our company in particular.

Manon and Gerard were accompanied by Jaap Stelder from the breeding company Agriom and Bart-Jan Kolk, hydrangea grower and breeder. Both had been able to make some time during this busy season to speak to our commercial team and tell us about the varieties they brought with them.

To conclude, Manon had prepared a nice pitch, where everyone could answer a number of online questions about the varieties they brought with them. This feedback will of course be taken to all the breeders and growers, who can use this feedback to determine their future varieties.
