It's today’s trend ... DIY!! And this trend is becoming even more relevant, especially in this time of corona. Five cymbidium growers, in collaboration with Royal FloraHolland, came up with a nice option for the trendy florist: The "Cymbidium Inspiration Box". The growers each supplied their own variety, which means that the box is available in five different variants.

In collaboration with Floral designer Hanneke Frankema a.k.a. "The Iron Lady", a beautiful fan bouquet has been developed in which the cymbidium plays a prominent role with a touch of Christmas. This Masterclass is exclusively for florists who order these Inspiration Box(es) through their supplier.

Cymbidium Inpiration Box

The box is filled with 4 beautiful cymbidium branches from one of the five growers, matching aluminum wire to make the fan and the flyer with the QR code to Hanneke Frankema's Masterclass. In this Masterclass she explains step by step (in English) how the bouquets are made and growers Stefanie (Seven Orchids) and Gertjan (Theo Ammerlaan) give various tips to guarantee an even better vase life!

Peet Zwink

Peter Zwinkels of Kwekerij Peet Zwink is a veritable cymbidium fanatic. For more than 40 years he has been a passionate grower of large-flowered cymbidiums in De Lier. In addition to cultivation, Peter also breeds new varieties himself. Within a few years he hopes to be able to supply about 20 varieties from his own cultivation.

One of Peter's showpieces is Yogi Bear. This beautiful brown / orange cymbidium has a wonderful scent, a beautiful autumn color and a super nice branch structure that is also sturdy. Yogi Bear is exclusively available at Peet Zwink and can be found in "his" "Cymbidium Inspiration Box".

Nursery Leekade

Kwekerij Leekade is a real family business. Simon took over the company from his father years ago and now runs it with his wife Esther, son Jacco and several colleagues. This company is MPS-GAP certified as one of the first mini cymbidium nurseries. In addition, the company is up for just about anything! Small packages, mixed boxes with special wishes, etc. They are happy to think along with the customer!

The 'Cymbidium Inspiration Box' of Kwekerij Leekade contains the beautiful, bright green Lisa. A sturdy branch with a very good vase life.

Seven Orchids

One of the larger cymbidium nurseries in the Netherlands is Seven Orchids. With a nursery in Bergschenhoek and a 'brand new' nursery in Bleiswijk, the Van Wijk family has been growing large-flowered cymbidiums for years. Besides father Art, sons Paco and Jari have now also been added to the company. What makes this company stand out? The year-round delivery, Global GAP and GRASP certification and the diversity in varieties.

One of those varieties is Mazurka. A bright white cymbidium with a red lip. The stem of the Mazurka has endless flowers and is rightfully a winner from the Seven Orchids range.

Theo Ammerlaan Orchideeën

The name "Ammerlaan" is well known in cymbidium cultivation. Father Theo is one of six (!) brothers who decided in 1993 to discover the beautiful cultivation of cymbidiums. And with success!

Sustainable cultivation is carried out in a modern company with optimal systems to guarantee high-quality cymbidium cultivation now and in the future.

Son Gert-Jan has recently taken over and now runs the nursery in Pijnacker.

The cymbidium called "Lightning" is the cultivar that you can find in the "Cymbidium Inspiration Box" of Theo Ammerlaan. An appropriate name, because especially this Christmas we have to make it extra cozy and comfortable inside!

Orchid nursery Ronald Ammerlaan

The cheerful Ronald Ammerlaan has a wonderful modern company in Delfgauw where he grows large-flowered cymbidiums on 2 ha from September to the beginning of May.

Risto is the beautiful variety Ronald Ammerlaan has chosen to put in the Cymbidium Inspiration Box. The flower has a deep red color with a red lip. It will brighten up every home during Christmas!
