All Souls Day and All Saints Day are coming! Besides the chrysanthemum, the anthurium is a flower that is also often used in these days! The Anthurium is strong, has a good vase life and is available in many beautiful and special colors!

In weeks 40 and 41, Claudia Broch (Anthurium Info) organized the anthurium inspiration weeks together with Manon Poot and Martijn van Bentvelsen (Royal Flora Holland). A great opportunity to join forces with them and put this wonderful product on the map.

The FloraPodium received 20 beautiful varieties of Anthuriums, from different growers, which we gratefully used in our presentation!

The anthurium is a tropical flower with a very long vase life of more than 3 weeks. They can be recognized by their glossy flowers, colorful bracts and curious spike and are available in all sizes and designs. The name anthurium - also known as flamingo flower - is derived from the Greek “Anthos” and “Oura”, the translation of which is flower tail. Care tips

Anthuriums easily last for 2-3 weeks and are easy to maintain. Due to the strong and long stem, they require little attention to look beautiful for a long time. There are a few extra care tips and tricks to enjoy anthuriums even longer:

• Remove all packing material and rubber bands and shorten the stems a few inches by cutting them diagonally.
• Anthurium flowers are very clean and keep the water clear. They don't need cut flower food, but will tolerate it.
• Place the flowers somewhere light, but not in direct sunlight.
• Replace the water once a week and also cut an inch off the stems just before returning the flowers to the vase. This makes them last even longer.
• Anthuriums like a temperature between 20 - 22 ° C, the minimum temperature is 16 ° C.
